CONCORD – Cabarrus Economic Development is excited to announce a new industrial development in Concord. Fortius Capital Partners plans to construct Meadows Corporate Park, which will comprise two multi-tenant, industrial buildings fronting I-85 near Poplar Tent Road. Through its affiliate, Fortius-Richardson, LLC, the company will deliver approximately $9.9 million in new tax investment.
“We are thrilled to begin development of this premier 21.5-acre site with excellent access and exposure to I-85,” J. Harris Morrison III of Fortius Capital Partners said. “We will meet the demand of industrial users requiring 16,000 SF, and greater, of highly flexible and functional industrial space.”
Meadows Corporate Park will be located at 700 Pitts School Road NW, Concord, NC, 28027. The Park will feature buildings of 112,000 square feet and 80,000 square feet with a shared truck court.
“Fortius’ development will provide space for new and expanding businesses to locate and provide quality jobs,” said Concord Mayor Bill Dusch. “Our City’s support of this investment will lead to new jobs, a broader tax base, and a stronger economy.”
Both the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners and Concord City Council supported and approved a three-year, performance-based tax incentive totaling $181,764 for Cabarrus County and $121,176 for the City of Concord. “Vision leads to progress,” said Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Chair Steve Morris. “Fortius’ vision will help frame the real estate landscape in an area that has great economic potential.”
“This speculative development partnership with Fortius serves an identified gap in our industrial marketplace,” said Cabarrus Economic Development Executive Director Robert Carney. “The access, visibility and layout make this a fantastic industrial offering for the market. We look forward the opportunities this development will create.”
